How HR can get back in the C Suite? – a personal perspective
Human Resource Management has struggled to keep its seat on the decision-making table in the last 10 years. As a re-emerging awareness of the need to attract and retain talent grows, HR’s role is again increasing in significance. This creates opportunities; but in order to secure that pivotal strategic position again,

HR is going to need to do one thing better in the future – Own the Metrics!

Measuring is a key component to a successful business and it is surprising how many companies do it badly or not at all. HR has never been good at taking credit for progress and material improvements in the business because, for one reason, it has never interested itself in measuring impact and in claiming and proving its role in generating success.

John Tooher will tell us about how giving HR a leading role in his business helped him grow it from $11M to a $60M business in 5 years, and from a 150-employee company in one location to a 3000 person 24/7 operation in 8 locations worldwide.  He will talk about the power of Strategic planning, building a Culture, and most importantly, measuring success – and why HR is key to making it happen.

John is a co-founder and managing partner at HeadRoom, a strategic planning consultancy and business accelerator based in Media and Wayne, PA. He is also co-founder and managing partner at Horn&Hardart Enterprises, a 125-year-old iconic New York and Philadelphia company which he is helping bring back to the life. Prior to that, John was President and General Manager of YellAdworks in King of Prussia, having previously worked for 3M and GE in various roles in Europe.
